Community Development: CODAC works with communities in establishing coalitions to help reduce neighborhood substance abuse and violence through evidence based programs and strategies (i.e. Communities That Care, Strategic Prevention Framework, and the Asset Based Community Development model).

The Family Violence Prevention Program is implemented in the Kino neighborhoods. The program uses the Asset Based Community Development model to stop family violence. Residents meet monthly to develop solutions and leadership from within their immediate community. Family violence survivors play a role in helping to eradicate the root causes of family violence. This program is sponsored by The United Way of Tucson and Southern Arizona.

Olweus Bullying Prevention Program: This program is designed to decrease school violence and increase school/self awareness. The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program was created by Dan Olweus and is offered at Cavett, Pueblo Gardens and Drachman Elementary Schools.

Strengthening Families Program: For Parents and Youth 10 – 14. This is a 7-week program designed to help parents and youth ages 10-14 communicate better and grow closer as a family. The youth will be involved in discussions as well as fun and skill-building activities. Families come together and practice what they have learned by using parent-youth discussions, games, skill-building practice and more.
