What to Expect When You Contact CODAC.

During your CODAC intake for drug or alcohol treatment, our first concern is for your wellbeing.

When you arrive, we will:

  • Make sure you are warm and comfortable.

  • Offer you something to eat and drink.

  • Help you with withdrawal symptoms if you’re feeling sick.

  • Gather intake information, which is kept confidential.

  • Address any immediate medical needs.

  • Provide you with a comfortable place to rest.

  • Work with you to create a plan for your next steps. This might include medications for opioid dependence.

CODAC’s Drug & Alcohol Use Treatment Programs

There are many factors that can lead to substance use and addiction, such as past abuse and trauma, stressful life experiences, sadness and being around others who are using. Sometimes, an undiagnosed illness can lead to drug use to help with pain or other symptoms.

Our team will help you figure out what level of support, treatment and services will be best for you and help you as you work to meet your recovery goals.

Standard Outpatient Support

Through a supportive team of medical providers, therapists, recovery coaches, counselors and peer support specialists, CODAC empowers you with the resources and skills to heal from drugs and/or alcohol use to achieve long-term sobriety and a healthy life.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment

CODAC has Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for men and women needing a bit more time and support in treatment. An Intensive Outpatient Program is a series of individual therapy and recovery skills/support groups that meet for nine hours every week (three hours, three times a week). Any CODAC member with a substance use disorder can participate.

Our Intensive Outpatient Programs provide:

  • Morning and afternoon female-only and male-only support and skills groups (over Zoom during COVID).
  • Care coordination, counseling and wellness support.
  • Free childcare while in treatment on-site.
  • Parenting support.
  • Support with Department of Child Safety (DCS), Family Drug Court and criminal justice-related cases.

Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use

CODAC offers specialized treatment for people who have been using opioids like heroin, morphine, oxycontin and fentanyl. Medication Assisted Treatment starts with the help of FDA-approved medications. Therapy, counseling and peer support are added to take recovery to the next level.

Clients are prescribed medication by a behavioral health medical professional; medication is monitored and adjusted as needed.

An individualized recovery plan may include:

  • Prescribed medication for substance use and mental health disorders.
  • Care for depression, anxiety, and severe mental health concerns.
  • Individual, family and group therapy.
  • Physical health care.
  • OBGYN support for birth control, pregnancy care, and well-woman care.
  • Case management and connection to resources.
  • Wellness, skills and support groups and classes.
  • Employment support.
  • Acupuncture.
