Members with AHCCCS: Don’t risk losing your health insurance coverage

Soon, there will be changes to continuous enrollment for AHCCCS. Along with thousands of people, you could lose your AHCCCS health insurance due to income or other eligibility factors.

Why is this change happening?

At the start of the pandemic, Congress enacted a law which required Medicaid and KidsCare (more commonly referred to as AHCCCS) programs to keep people continuously enrolled through the end of the COVID-19 public health emergency. Congress has now ended this requirement, meaning states can disenroll individuals that no longer meet Medicaid eligibility requirements. Arizona has begun this “unwinding” process of determining who is still eligible for Medicaid and KidsCare.

What you can do to prepare:

The most important thing AHCCCS members can do right now is update their contact information in Health-e-Arizona Plus, sign up for text/email notification alerts from AHCCCS, and respond to all AHCCCS requests for information in a timely manner.

CODAC staff are prepared to help you with this step, by simply calling and leaving us a voicemail at (520) 202-1914. We will call you back and walk you through the renewal steps.

If you would like to do this yourself, you can:

  • Log in to www.healthearizonaplus.gov or call Health-e-Arizona Plus at 1-855-432-7587, Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • To sign up for text/email alerts of AHCCCS notifications, log in to www.healthearizonaplus.gov, go to “Message Center” on the toolbar, and click on “Manage My Alerts and Letters.”
  • Look for a letter from AHCCCS and respond if needed
